Hot Water Heat Pumps.

Hot water heat pumps are capable of heating water for your swimming pool, water cylinder and even your home through in-floor piping.

Domestic Hot Water

For most New Zealand households the energy used to heat the hot water cylinder is the largest contributor to the electricity bill. For this reason we believe that a domestic hot water heat pump could possibly be one of the best investments a household could make.

A domestic hot water heat pump is one of the most efficient forms of hot water heating available giving you the same amount of hot water for between 50 – 70% less energy. The systems we offer will work down to -10oC so the benefits are available all year round, not just in the summer or on sunny days and these can in most cases be fitted to your existing hot water cylinder.

In-Floor Water Heating

An In-Floor (under floor) heating system is ideal for someone building a new home who is looking for a total comfort heating system that is almost invisible.

An In-Floor heating system utilises water by heating it up and pumping it through piping which is placed into the concrete floor slab during construction thereby heating the slab and in turn heating the home from the floor up.

With the hot water heat pumps ability to heat this water at such a low cost it means that heating the entire home can be achieved at a fraction of the cost of other systems. The system also offers zone control so that each area in the home can be set to heat at different temperatures from each other. This is achieved by using separate piping circuits for the different areas of the home and linking them through a manifold so each of the homes areas water flow can be controlled independently and when connected to a thermostat you have zone control.

In addition an In-floor system can often be designed to heat a water cylinder for domestic water heating or there are dual purpose systems available which will allow you to heat the home through an In-Floor heating system and then by flicking a switch have the water divert to heat your swimming pool for summer.

Swimming Pool Heat Pumps

To make good use of your swimming pool you need to have it heated and a properly sized hot water heat pump is able to ensure that your swimming pool can remain at 26 – 30oC.  This temperature will help you to enjoy your outdoor pool for a longer period throughout summer and your indoor pool all year round.

Swimming pools vary in size, so the amount of energy needed to maintain the water temperature will vary as well. We have a large variety of heat pumps to suit all pool sizes and can provide you with the most efficient size to heat your pool ensuring you don’t pay extra for an oversized heat pump that costs you more to run.
For indoor swimming pools a heat pump can take further energy saving  advantages by using the energy filled air in the enclosed space by absorbing it through its heat exchanger and putting the heat back into the pool.

The heat pumps we use have titanium heat exchangers which provide the best possible corrosion resistance available, so they will last the test of time for both chlorinated and salt water pools and are New Zealand made systems for New Zealand conditions.
